The process is partially autonomous, but you will be contacted personally to assure you the best match possible. Your profile is not saved until you click the update profile button at the bottom of the form. Once you submit the form you will receive an email with a link that will allow you to update / complete your profile at another time. Even if you have signed a representation contract for one side, you can still fill out a profile for the other side. You can even fill out a profile for the same side (in case it doesn't work out).
Note, the skills and style of the Realtor who would best suit you may be quite different for your buying and selling needs. This is why we have two separate profiles. To start with, it is likely that for buying you would want a Realtor who specializes in working with buyers and if your are sellling you would want a listing specialist. Sometimes you are moving form one geographic area to another. Often people use the same Realtor for both tasks because they believe they can negotiate a better rate that way. Well that is one of our profile questions. We are working on a single form to allow quicker entry, but our focus group studies showed greater independence when separate profiles were used. (i.e. if you are in the mindset thinking about what you want your buyer's agent to do for you, you are more likely to give answers that truly meet your needs than then when filling out a survey that goes back and forth (repeating questions for buyers and sellers).
